What is a Canadian Bet?

The Canadian is also known as a Super Yankee. Once we move into the realms of the Canadian, things start to get complication and stakes start to get large. Just click here to add an example bet to the calculator and you'll see what I mean. Profits can be astronomical (50 grand for a £26 pound stake!), but of course landing a 12 /1, 14 /1 and 18 /1 outsiders all on the same day is hardly likely. But set any one of those outsiders to lose and you'll see were still making thousands. If two of the outsiders lose then we're still over £100 up. Canadians and Super Yankees, then, give you a chace to dream of big pay days whilst also ensuring that smaller pay-offs come along once in a while too.

Looking at the graphic, you can see that there are lots of bets involved here! All told there are 26 bets: 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold. This one doesn't include any singles (see the Lucky 31 for that). Of course what this means is that your stake is going to be quite high for this one. As ever with multiples, a higher stake means less overall risk, but nevertheless these can get expensive.
